If I had to pick one favorite author, I would have to say Stephen King, just based on the sheer number of books of his I have read. I got started early, in fifth grade, with Children of the Corn (a short story in Night Shift), and went on to Carrie, Christine, The Shining, Skeleton Crew, It and more. Yep. All between elementary and middle school. My folks didn’t pay attention to WHAT I was reading, they were just happy I was reading. Needless to say, some of the content was not quite appropriate! LOL
No story of his ever gave me nightmares, as I have always had a love for all things scary. I LOVE his style of writing and would get so easily immersed in a story that I’d read for hours and lose track of time.
Reading unfortunately dwindled for me in high school and beyond until I just fell in love it with again maybe 10 years ago or so. Now we have GoodReads and other online resources that have opened me up to so many other authors. I just finished one book by Ronald Malfi and two by Simone St. James, and I plan to read more of their work!
Do you have a favorite author?
I agree—Stephen King is the best. I e been reading his books since I was a kid and have loved all of them (except The Tommyknockers, lol)!

Yeah, I don’t recall really liking the Tommyknockers.. And I didn’t get into any of the Dark Tower series, either, but the sheer creepiness of many others have stayed with me all these years.
