railroad tracks

Ah, procrastination, my old friend. I’m so guilty of it. I’ve gotten better in recent years, but there’s still times I need to force myself into action.

The pros are easy. Get it done, get it off your mind. Tackle the beast. Eat the frog. You’re done with time to spare, leaving you plenty of breathing room, and also extra time if things go wrong or you need to make extra tweaks, whatever the case may be. There are LOTS of reasons not to procrastinate.

But, I will say that holding off on things can also allow time in the beginning to thing things through first, if need be. So in these situations, before diving in, procrastination can seem like the wise thing to do. Think it over, analyze, ask questions if necessary.

In most situations though, it seems that the pro in procrastination is there for a reason. Just do it and get to the feeling of accomplishment! It’s a much nicer feeling than avoiding an unpleasant task.
