two lane blacktop in the winter
.
January 2023 is in the books and that is a wrap for Bloganuary! Thank you for coming along with me on my journey. Again, I fell behind again so I’ll share the last four topics here in one post.

Day 28 – Describe your perfect birthday cake.

Mmm.. I’ve never met a birthday cake I didn’t like, but if I had to pick one, I’d have to say Red Velvet. But with cream cheese frosting, which I’ve recently learned is also the traditional frosting along with buttercream. For Christmas I made homemade frosting for some cupcakes and it was AMAZING. I probably won’t buy frosting again. Damn. Now I want cake.

Day 29 – What is something you learned recently?

There is a Ford Pinto at the bottom of Lake Michigan, about a half mile out from the shoreline, in about 20 feet of water. It was found by diver Chris Roxburgh. The engine is missing, so one of the theories is it was sunk deliberately to create a water habitat.

Day 30 – What would you title the chapters of your autobiography?

I don’t know about individual chapters, but I know the title would be “It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time..” Except for the last 21 years of my life, which have been awesome. So yeah, I guess that could be the first chapter and “Thank You God for Finally Laying Off the Practical Jokes” could be the second chapter.

Day 31 – Where is the best place to watch the sunset near you?

Oddly enough, a local freeway overpass. Vining Rd. over I-94 in Romulus, near Metro Airport. It’s higher up, and clear of trees, obviously. It’s not uncommon to see people with tripods on the shoulder in the event of a particularly spectacular sunset.
