Another awesome late summer weekend has come to an end and with the Autumnal Equinox being this coming Thursday, I thought Fall Camping would be a good theme for this week’s Microstock Monday.
Two weeks agp I drove down my street and was horrified to see a neighbor’s travel trailer all bundled up under its cover, sitting in the driveway. Apparently Labor Day weekend is it for them. How?? OMG Fall camping is the best!! Fall colors, cool nights around the fire, Halloween campouts!! But, for whatever reason, they were done. We’ve camped as late as the first week in November, weather permitting of course. And, you don’t want to wait til the LAST minute and winterize when its too cold to comfortably be outside, which for me, doesn’t take much.
At any rate, much of my fall outdoor stock photography takes place on camping trips. Here are several of my favorites, actually, all of them taken at Bishop Lake in Brighton.
This ancient old willow looks like something out of a movie.
There is nothing more sad than an empty campground.
This guy fluttered and landed on our picnic table as we packed up one Sunday.
Halloween campout was the previous weekend and someone had left a pumpkin. I remember this weekend – October 25th was a gorgeous 70+ degree day. We had the colors, the cool air, a campfire and a clear sky filled with stars. I wish I could have bottled it up.
Hoping for a repeat this season!
