This weeks forecast (RAIN and thunderstorms), reminded me of one of my favorite CCR songs. It’s funny, I remember hearing this song when karaoke first made it’s debut in the early 90s (or whenever that was). We were gathered in the bar of Mayflower Lanes, a local bowling alley, getting ready for 9 pin no-tap. The Karaoke dude was doing several songs himself, trying to get the crowd going and encourage those slips of paper with requested songs. I don’t know why this particular moment sticks in my memory – it was never one of my favorite songs back then, but has since grown on me, as with other CCR music.
I do hope we get some thunderstorms, it would be just a reminder that spring is around the corner. We’re supposed to get quite a bit of rain, 3″ in some areas, so there will be some flooding as well. Glad I don’t have a basement!
This week as I’m recovering from surgery, I’ve been addicted to Netflix and haven’t done nearly the reading I’d planned – yet. Wednesday of this week I planned to lose myself for the day in the Business Analysis Book of Knowledge (BABOK) to study for the certification. Except my tablet was dead (only copy of the BABOK I have is in PDF format). Funny, since I always leave it plugged in to get updates. Oh well. So I plug it in and watched another episode of The Killing. I went back to check it and it stuck on the Dual Core screen, which appears when booting up. Oh no. Tried a forced reset, which is holding the power button and and volume up button at the same time. No dice. Finally I consult the almighty Google where I found a comment stating to remove any micro SD cards, then powering up. Luckily, that did the trick and I’m not out shopping for a new tablet. Whew. I am due for a new one though, my trusty Motorola Xoom is circa 2010 and was refurbished when I got it. I just didn’t want to have to shell out the cash right now.
So! I’ll have my BABOK to read through and study, and Facebook of course recommended an ebook I could not pass up – the Summer of 79. Supposedly a mix between Stranger Things and Stand By Me. Buy with One Click? Thank you, Amazon, I believe I will!
GRATITUDE
I’m healing. Things are way less painful than they were a week ago. With this comes many other things to be grateful for. My Awesome Husband who has taken such great care of me. My sister and brother-in-law who stopped by with dinner when I got home from the hospital. Friends reaching out to see how I’m doing. Health insurance. Short Term Disability benefit. And the thought of looking forward to getting back on my feet and active again. For all of this I’m grateful.
So, I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain? Comin down on a sunny day? I have.. The above photo was taken in the Badlands in South Dakota, during the Sturgis Rally.

I love that song! There’s a cool version on the soundtrack for the movie Philadelphia. I think that’s the first time I heard that tune. Great one.
Glad to hear everything went well and you’re healing. I’m grateful for that for you!
Have a peaceful week!
