Here we are at the end of 2017. And again it flew.

Hope you had a great holiday!  Ours was very nice, we visited family and friends, got to see our family open gifts they loved, and Bill and I surprised each other as well with some awesome toys! Bill got me a Kawasaki shirt and hoodie, a wifi printer/scanner, an air fryer and a wifi crockpot! I got him a new tablet and case, Uncle Si’s new cd, one of those bluetooth winter hats and LED lights for the garage. We spent our time off in our pjs, playing with our new toys as the snow fell outside. Also, my stocking included the battery powered lights shown above, and a cabinet bar for the trailer (to keep things in place as you bounce down the road).

Our Christmas Day celebration with our family and extended family is always a fun time, but got a tad loud at the end, just from the houseful of people/kids. We were leaving and our hostess thanked us for the Christmas gift, which wins the title of Christmas Quote 2017: “Thanks for the Crown Royal! I’m going to belt some of that down here in a minute!”   Hahaha..

So.. Tomorrow night we bid goodbye to 2017. We will spend the evening in the garage polishing our bikes and planning our Sturgis itinerary as we’ve done every year since 2010. I’ve got some goals for 2018, which include building out my stock photography portfolio and Photography page, my Lean Six Sigma Certifications, greenbelt, which I’m scheduled for, and blackbelt which I’ll have to tackle after my surgery. My CBAP is still a ways off in terms of hours, but I’m still working at it. How about you, any goals/resolutions?

GRATITUDE
One my way into work Friday morning, just as I took my last freeway exit, I got behind a car going VERY slow. The roads were slushy, and I wasn’t exactly flying, but still could have safely sped up a bit, IMHO. Since I had to stay in my lane for the next exit, I crept along behind this person, grumbling. They took the exit I needed, which is kind of a blind curve. Up ahead of them, a car spun out and had just hit the snowbank on the shoulder with its back end, sending a puff of snow into the air. They straightened it out and were on their way, but LUCKILY we were far enough behind them.  If it weren’t for the slowpoke who kept me from taking the curve faster, I wouldn’t have had time to slow down, I’d have likely hit the same patch of ice they did, and probably would have hit them. At the next traffic light, I ended up alongside this lady, and mentally sent she and my angels a Thank You.

With that, I’ll leave you with one of my favorite holiday songs from Boney James..

Happy New Year!  May 2018 be all you dream of.
