Greetings on this gorgeous fall evening! It’s the start of a new, awesome weekly linkup and a huge THANK YOU goes out to Tara over at Daisy Smiley Face for hosting!

Ah, rewinding the week.. It went FAST. I can’t believe it’s already Friday night and WordCamp Ann Arbor is tomorrow! I’m super excited to attend and see a dear friend of mine who will be speaking on the legal use of fonts and images on your blog. WordCamp always gets me fired up again and there’s always such a great deal to be learned. Just a bummer that it’s Friday and Saturday instead of Saturday and Sunday for those of us schmucks who still work a full time job. 🙂  So I’ve already missed half the event. Oh well.

Work has been going well, my concurrent projects are moving along and it’s been a good learning experience, especially in pursuit of the CBAP, which is a ways out still but I’m making progress.

On the theme of music, lately I’ve been waking up with a different song in my head. If it keeps occurring I’ll take note of it to see if I can make any correlation to what is going on lately. ??  Weird. In the last month I know I’ve gone at least 4 or 5 days waking up with a different song.

Which reminds me, it’s time I shook up my playlist, I’ve been listening to the same stuff for months now. I subscribe to Napster (formerly Rhapsody), where you can sync to an offline device rather than stream. What’s your fave?

I’ve been in my glory with Halloween movies and other creepiness! I just watched Psycho and Frankenstein for the first time last week – the originals! I’m hoping to get in Nosferatu this month as well. And yes, this Stephen King fan (I own all the hardcovers) must admit: I’ve not yet seen IT. I’m no longer a fan of theaters and will gladly wait until I can stream it. I’m hoping that will be soon.

This week I’ve driven myself and my husband nuts looking for a lost notebook. It’s my camping journal that I started when we got our 5th wheel two years ago. My sister gave me the idea to start a journal and note all the campgrounds we visit along with site details (liked it/hated it) and any other memories. The last I had it was Labor Day weekend and now it’s gone. We’ve looked everywhere. Lots of the stories are here on my blog, but not all the detail. So, if you’re inclined, please offer up a prayer to St. Anthony, the patron saint of lost things. I’d really love to have it back!

GRATITUDE
Wow, there is so much to be grateful for, there really is. I think right at this moment, especially since it’s reminding me every time I move, is my upcoming hip surgery and my awesome health coverage. I’m so looking forward to being pain free and active again.

    1. I’m positive I didn’t take it, though. I brought a different journal for that trip, this one stays with our fifth wheel. At this point, though I hope it’s in SD! At least I’ll find it in the spring.

  1. Great post, Kathleen! And thanks for participating! When you said your week went fast, I heard that cassette rewind sound in my head!

Worked does interfere with fun things often, doesn’t it? I agree. And I wake up with a song in my head every day. For some unknown reason, as I don’t even like her really, I woke up with “Rolling in the Deep” by Adele today. I must switch that out of my head playlist asap. I don’t know that I subscribe to anything with playlists… I’m so out of techy touch sometimes… but I use Pandora and Spotify. I can’t believe Napster is still around!

I’m not a fan of scary movies so much, but I’m definitely not a fan of theaters anymore either. The one near my work has a gigantic photo of recliners they now apparently have inside. Really, people? A recliner? I’d expect to see people lounging in their underwear in the theater then. hahahaha

Hope you find the notebook. The minute you stop thinking about it, I’m sure it will appear!

Good luck with the hip surgery. I’ll be thinking of you.

Thanks again for playing along. Fantastic post! Have a great week!

  2. I really hope you find your notebook! So many memories in there. I hope you had a great time at Word Camp. I am also a huge Stephen King fan and I have yet to see It. I’ve heard great things but just haven’t made my way to the theater yet. I use Spotify and really love it. Good luck with your hip surgery!

    1. Thank you! I really can’t wait to have it done, so sick of being inactive. I also just got the hardcover Sleeping Beauties by Owen King. Can’t wait to dive into it. Thanks for stopping by!
