Well, that went quick! I landed in Detroit last night after a week with my family in Florida. I was able to help with quite a bit of family business, but with a lack of time and an internet connection, not much blogging took place. I got out for daily walks, though, and it made for an interesting change of pace in my daily stock photography work.
My dad lives in a rural sub, and canal “fingers” separate each street. The canals all lead to a long main canal out to Lake Beauclair, which is connected by another canal to several more lakes, eventually leading out to the Atlantic. Alligators populate the waters, and while out for a walk, I was sure I saw the nose and eyes of about an 8-footer, before it slowly disappeared beneath the surface.
I missed the gator shot, but was able to get several others while out walking, and thanks to the Dreamstime app, I could use my downtime to post process, keyword and upload my work, all from my phone.
I also got to spend some time with my sister, and we grabbed lunch one day at the Mellow Mushroom, a very cool pizza bar. Her calzone looked wonderful, and now resides in my portfolio.
Back at her house, I caught some of the remodeling projects she’s started, such as rearranging items in her kitchen and changing the look of her cabinets.
The weather for the week unfortunately wasn’t the best, cloudy and rainy most of the time, but temps were still about 50 degrees warmer than in Michigan. It was nice to have a change of scenery, and of course great to see my dad and sister.
Now to adjust back to the frigid Michigan air and on to the next adventure!
50 degrees of separation ;o)
Welcome back to winter.
