Slow, that’s how I’ve felt, lately! Ugh.. Well, here we are on January 8th and I’m just sitting down to my first blog post of 2015. In past years I’ve had all my goals for the year written out before the clock struck midnight, this year, though I know what I want to accomplish, they have yet to hit paper. It’s okay, l look forward to creating the vision and getting things organized, it’s what I do!
Lots of blogs I’ve read lately (obviously) speak of new year’s goals and aspirations. One post, by Kim Ulmanis, talked of an idea I found intriguing, dedicating a word for the year. Not long ago I wrote a blog post named Clarity, exactly what I was feeling at the time and I think could pretty much sum up my 2014. I did a lot of soul searching and house cleaning in 2014, and it’s got me closer to where I want to be.
This year, my word is Action. I know we’re only 8 days into the new year, but upon reflecting on some of the things I wanted to accomplish by now, I became depressed over not being as far along as I wanted. I remembered, though, that the first step in climbing out of that rut is doing something, anything, taking ACTION towards your goal. The only thing worse than not meeting your goal is knowing you didn’t do all you could.
So in this last week, we were able to knock a few more things off the list. I feel so much better than I did, knowing progress, as small as it may be, is better than standing still.
What about you? If you had a word for your vision of 2015, what would it be?
