These last several weeks have been pretty intense, we’re wrapping up a project at work that’s kept us hopping, with a few surprises thrown in here and there. It reminded me of hearing colleagues in the past mention how much better they work under pressure. Me, I’m not so sure!
As stressful as it’s been, I wouldn’t trade these recent experiences for anything – I’ve learned a ton. But I wouldn’t say I work better under pressure. Like most I prefer a happy medium, just enough work, realistic deadlines. But I guess that would get boring too, after a while.
Tough experiences change us, force us to grow. They also cause us to appreciate the normal, non-crazy times.
When this project is done, it will be on to the next. Hopefully what I’ve taken with help manage the inevitable curveballs.
What are your thoughts? Do you thrive on the pressure of a chaotic project?
