It’s official, Daylight Savings Time has ended, we’ve fallen backward and we’re on the first leg of our journey into Winter. I’ve never minded the clock change thing, it seems as if there are reminders everywhere you look, and another hour of sleep has never really made a difference to me.
From now until the Winter Solstice, the days will get shorter as they go by, the part I dislike the most. Arrive at work in the dark, leave in the dark. Dusk at 4pm. At least it will go fast, like the holidays do. Before we know it, we’ll be into 2014 facing the long, cold, gray stretch, January until April.
Of course what makes it go even faster are snowmobiling weekends! The public trails in Michigan close March 30th, and one year I found myself wishing we had more snowy weekends to ride – until I realized we were nearing the end of March. I hadn’t even noticed winter going by. I could handle that every year!
