This is really getting old, as it does, every February. I long for spring, to work in the yard, wear shorts and flip flops. smell the fresh air as the breeze moves the curtains, stretching out in the hammock. Birds chirping in the morning, crickets at night, the rumble of thunder, a backyard campfire.
Sigh. The arctic air, the icy roads, snowfall, it builds from November or whenever our winter really starts, and by February we’ve had it. Spring can’t come soon enough.
During the winter my photography subjects are primarily food. I find it’s where the most variety is possible during the months I come the closest to hibernating. My tolerance for cold has diminished over the years, so bundling up and heading out into the frigid weather with my camera does not appeal to me in the least.
Some of my indoor creations..
So one more week to go and the forecast at least shows temps in the 30s the first week of March. I look forward to the next cycle of my work, when I can get outdoors again.
What are you looking forward to the most when February is in the books?
I am glad it is a short month, and while I hate February, it is still not as bad as January :).
🙂 Yes, although January does come with a bit of cheer, still reeling a bit from the holidays…
