Today at work I was trying to find the right process to request a software application that I needed. After searching several ways I sent an IM to a co-worker, who after a moment, showed me what I was missing.
I was able to submit my request and responded with my thanks. Her reply was, “I was happy to help! I needed a win today.”
Needed a win. I loved that.
How many times have we “needed a win”? How many times have we needed just one thing to go right in a day where EVERYTHING was going wrong? I imagine if we look, we’ll find lots of wins. Even in the midst of not a great day (more like week), I had plenty of wins, and her statement made me realize it.
Like how my morning commute was on bone dry freeways instead of a snow covered, icy route.
Or the friendly conversation I had with someone from another department on the elevator.
Or how I was able to respond quickly to several customers and they voiced their appreciation.
Or enjoying the spicy chicken sandwich on toasted ciabatta from our gorgeous, newly remodeled cafeteria.
The phone conversation with my Dad this evening, and watching Grace and Frankie over a delicious salad and a glass of wine.
I was glad to be her “win” today. I hope you had plenty, as well.
Love this positive encouraging post Kathleen!
It made my day, glad you liked it!
It’s funny how the “win” can be something really small, but it makes such a huge difference!
