The freezing rain we got last night was far from the snow I ordered for New Year’s Eve weekend. Something had to have gotten lost in the translation, or perhaps, as a friend said I did, “One too many spins in the Snow Dance.” Then I found out a friend of mine just bought a sled, and another one bought a new trailer and had waxed both his machines for the upcoming season. I then knew who to blame. 🙂
Checking the trail conditions over the last several days, we were disappointed to find that with the lack of new snowfall and rising temps, there was really no trails in very good condition, anywhere in lower Michigan. And being five hours south of the Mackinac Bridge, to go anywhere farther typically requires more than a weekend.
Our hopes of spending New Year’s Eve up north for a snowmobiling weekend were dwindling, but the original plan was our annual tradition: spending the holiday safely tucked away in our heated garage to polish our bikes and plan for the 2011 riding season. Another project on the list is to wire my sled for my heater riding gear that I bought this fall.
Until tomorrow, from the garage!

I love MI!! I took a trip to Silver Lake a few years back and fell in love. The dunes are amazing!
