I know, I’m about ten years late getting started. Maybe more. But I’ve learned that things happen and come together exactly when they are supposed to.
My passions are motorcycling, photography, travel writing, snowmobiling, racing and camping, basically in that order. There is nothing that excites me more than to get up on a beautiful bright summer day, with nothing on the agenda but to ride and explore new places, off the beaten path. I’ve discovered the joy of planning a trip, hitting the road, capturing the day or weekend in pictures, then putting it all together with words, to share with others what we experienced.
I live in Metro Detroit, Michigan, and we all know what it’s been like here over the past several years. Times are tough across the board, obviously for working (or not working) families, but also for smaller businesses without the advertising budget of the big box stores, and the like. What I hope to do through this blog is to find those hidden gems along my travels, provide a “plug” to these smaller Michigan based businesses, and maybe drive some more folks their way. I hope it also inspires people to get out, do something new with their families, see something different, right in our own backyard. Things that are do-able on a budget. There is so much to do and see here, and you don’t need a lot of money to do it, if your idea of the perfect trip isn’t a week in Hawaii at a five star hotel. My husband and I aren’t wealthy, by any stretch, and we’ve done and seen so much I literally have a hard time remembering it all.
So this is why I’m here! I hope you’ll be back to read about our adventures, and perhaps check them out for yourself.
Nice blog. Very well written. I look forward to hearing about some of the places you find.
Thanks, Walt! I have a lot of stories to tell and I hope you’ll check back. 🙂
