And it began today! The Autumn Equinox arrived today at 4:44pm, and in Metro Detroit, it was the perfect setting for the first day of Fall – cool breezes, blue sky, white puffy clouds and lots of sunshine. The cider mills I’m sure were packed on a day like today.
Like most, I love this time of year. The vibrant color change of the landscape, Halloween, pumpkins, mulled cider, and scary movie marathons for the month of October! Those who know me know that all my life, I’ve been a fan of supernatural and paranormal movies, shows, books and stories around the campfire.
I don’t know where my love for creepiness came from, but my most vivid childhood memories take place in the fall, walking down our dirt road at dusk, smelling the smoke in the air from neighboring chimneys, roasting pumpkin seeds, watching the classics like Halloween, Carrie and Burnt Offerings (filtered through my hands over my face, of course!)
I’m excited this year to work the creepiness factor into my photography. The above photo is just a start, this was taken inside the St. Ambrose Cemetery in Deadwood, South Dakota, during our last trip out to the Sturgis Rally this past August.
What are you working on this season? Are you inspired this time of year like I am?
I love the photo! Maybe you and I could go do something “creepy” together this fall – I would love to go do something out of the norm! 🙂
Sounds great!!
