Turbulent Thursday

Aug 23, 2018

It started last Thursday, August 16th. I had an 8 am dentist appointment and knew I needed antibiotics due to my surgery in February. I got all that taken care of with my doctor before our vacation, to avoid any last minute problems. Yay me! On the ball and organized.

What I didn’t know is I needed clearance from my surgeon (probably in my paperwork, filed away months ago) which I obviously didn’t have. So I got to see the dentist but didn’t have my cleaning. Rescheduled for 9/13, same time. Good thing my doctor wrote the prescription for two pills, because I took one for that morning.

But for some reason I thought my appointment was today. I left my house with just enough time only to notice when I got in my car, I had toothpaste on my black pants. I ran in and changed to black capris, not exactly dress code friendly but I decided to chance it.

Back in my car, I realize I’m without my phone. Back in the house, searching frantically. No phone. I decide to go ahead to the dentist and stop back at home after. So now I’m in my car and I don’t know what time it is. My Fitbit is dead since I lost the charger and the console display in my car is on the fritz.

I get to the dentist right on time, to be informed that my appointment is not today, but 9/13. (I’m going crazy!!  Wheeeeeee!) I don’t know why I thought it was the following Thursday, same time. Sigh.

They offered to let me wait a few minutes to see if their other appointment didn’t show, which I did, but we then learned I still don’t have clearance from my surgeon! And of course I took the second antibiotic earlier this morning so now I have to explain to my doctor why I need another prescription for YET ANOTHER TRIP to the dentist.

So I went home to find my phone before going in to work. Downstairs. Upstairs. Bedroom. Bathroom. Nope. WTH?? Was it my guides deciding to cut me some slack when I thought to check the drawer in the bathroom? There it was with my brushes. OMG

I made it safely to work, and thankfully my morning was disaster free.

Then the roast beef sandwich I ordered for lunch was so rare I’m surprised it didn’t get up and wander off in search of grass. They remade it with turkey though without grumbling.

The day ended well, however, I was able to help a customer that afternoon, got through my Zumba class without looking like I was having a convulsion, caught up with a dear friend over dinner, and enjoyed the above much anticipated, heavenly margarita.

And tomorrow is Friday.
