Welcome! I’m on location for this week’s coffee share at Sugarloaf Campground in the Waterloo Recreation Area! I spent a chilly, rainy Friday morning with my laptop and my coffee, giving thanks I’m a glamper and not in a tent! It rained non-stop since early that morning. Kind of a bummer, I’m camping with my family and we were all cooped up in our trailers with the heat on, but it cleared up in the afternoon.
Thursday night we gathered by the fire as the breeze coming off the lake rustled through the trees. It was nice to be together again.
The first raindrops began to fall just before we packed it in for the night and then it was off and on all night and a steady rain all Friday morning.
My sisters and I shared an avocado in my Dad’s memory (his favorite) Thursday yesterday was the one year anniversary of this passing.
We’re really close to the lake this weekend, and I’m happy that I can just drag my kayak across the grass a short ways instead of having to enlist Bill to drive me to the launch. I loved this shot – Sign? What sign? (tying boat to shore.. )
My sister is interested in doing more outdoor cooking so we have several things planned for that too! Yesterday we made dutch oven chili and cornbread and I’m tickled it came out so well! Thank you to Outdoor Cooking with Al for the recipe!
I will need to dust off my Camp Cooking series blog posts and share them – we will doing quite a bit of outdoor cooking this year! Today we are making campfire nachos in the dutch oven and blueberry cobbler this evening.
It’s luckily a repeat of yesterday’s gorgeous weather, so I look forward to doing a little magnet fishing as well!
Thanks for coming by our camp! How was your week?
Fun adventure shared. Thanks for the post.
