Microstock Monday

Oct 23, 2017

How I love this time of year! Hehehe.. I’ve been having a ball this season with Halloween themed images and have some work in the queue for editing. I love seasonal images because even if I miss the timeframe (buyers look for seasonal images months in advance) “evergreen” type photos remain in my portfolio for future seasons.

I logged into my Dreamstime app yesterday (I’d somehow logged myself out a while ago) so I hadn’t seen what had sold lately. This is a recent sale of one of my favorite images from an old cemetery along US-12. I flipped it to black and white in Lightroom and I love how the lighting appears.

This was taken in color on a fall day several years ago, on a road trip with a photog friend. I made sure to photograph the back of the stone so no names were showing and leaving enough space in the lower left corner for copy. I haven’t gone out on a shoot in a while, probably because I’ve been filling my weekends with camping.  🙂  I’m overdue, perhaps in the next few weeks I can get out again.

This isn’t a recent sale, but another of my favorites. Halloween treats are such fun to make and photograph. I’d like to make some time this week to experiment with something new.
