Kind of timely that the above photo sold this past week. I wish my maples would drop their leaves so we could get started on cleanup. It’s a lengthy job, I can’t believe I raked them all myself for several years before we got the riding mower. Now I just rake them in from the fence line and Bill runs them over, spraying shredded leaves into the bagger attachment. I had to have filled at least 40 yard bags of leaves before then.
Our maples stayed green this year for much longer than I remembered. They’re just now turning yellow with tinges of red. The below photos were taken in Hines Park several years back.
Bright yellows are my favorite, especially against a clear sky. I remember a hike I took once with a friend where the breeze blew a shower of tiny yellow leaves fluttering through the air as we walked the trail. It was a cool moment.
Those bright yellow trees are gorgeous! I’m also waiting for the tree in front of my house to stop spraying leaves everywhere so we can clean out the gutters before all this rain we have had starts to freeze. It shouldn’t be much longer as long as the weather stays cool for a week or two. Thanks for showing off your beautiful pictures.
Thanks so much! Glad you liked them.. 🙂
