Winter photography. I hope this arctic cold subsides so I can get out and do more this season. It’s a challenge to get the white balance right as the camera overcompensates for the brightness, causing the white areas to appear gray. The above photo of the tiny evergreen (not so tiny anymore!) growing outside my dining room window shows this example. Compared to the white background of this page, the snow appears a bit gray.

I was out taking a walk near Wilcox Lake several years ago when I found the perfect example of what the sign is warning.
