Ah, Thursday.. Thanks again for coming along with us.
We’ve kind of kept to our itinerary but it’s been nice to loosely follow it and just enjoy the day without a schedule. I like to plan it out just so we do everything we plan to, but things can change. Today we went to breakfast with friends to The Lodge, home of the famous Wrangler Burrito. Mmmmmm.. #smaczne I could eat here every day.
Off to JP Cycle in Sturgis as the day grew hotter. Bill found a nice new vest (his third) as his was disintegrating, I found a shirt and also a pair of Evel Knievel socks for him.
HOT day! I took lots of GoPro video, down Vanocker Canyon Road and also through Jewel Cave. I’ll share it later on YouTube once I go through it. We stopped for lunch at Pizza Works, our annual stop. In 2010, we met our pastor and his wife there who married us at the Blue Bell Lodge. It’s been a tradition ever since and the pizza is fabulous!
Stuffed and back on the bikes, we took highway 16, which winds west through Newcastle, Wyoming and back into South Dakota. On our way north, we passed the open range. Had to stop and do a U turn. Hahaha.
There is also the site of an old oil well that I at first thought was an abandoned amusement park when we rode past it the other day. We stopped and walked back in the hot sun and I got pics with my zoom lens. I had to smile at the mention of That’s Incredible.
85 took us back to Spearfish Canyon and ultimately to the campsite. We day drank until the sun set and the fire started. Ready to do it all again tomorrow!
