Day 26 of NaBloPoMo. I can’t remember a year I was more excited for snow!

In January of this year, we met friends from Iowa for a snowmobile trip in Munising, in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Kind of ironic how I wrote about our plans on November 23, 2015, about how we fired up the sleds and they ran fine. When we arrived in Munising for our snowmobile trip, mine had trouble and I ended up not being able to ride it at all, due to fuel pump problems. Our dear friends had brought along a spare sled, a super nice Arctic Cat Firecat F7, which saved my weekend. We had a blast.

Fast forward to November 2016, when Bill rebuilt the fuel pump on my sled, the suspected culprit. But after the rebuild, it still leaked fuel. We had mild temps today and he replaced the fuel lines and cleaned the carburetor, and it fired right up again. Keeping our fingers crossed that our return trip to Munising in January 2017 will be a success, but we’ll be without our friends this year.  🙁

All we need now is a new choke lever for Bill’s sled and we’ll be ready to go.  Doing the snow dance!

  1. Forget the Urals in the winter … bring on the sleds (that is if you want to play outside in the cold!) I love the snow as long as I don’t have to drive in it while it’s happening.
Hope it runs like a charm and you get snow.
