Packing my Halloween decor into the last box, I poked around for my box of fall decorations to make the transition to Thanksgiving. I had a few things packed away but got the itch to go shopping and see how I could spruce things up.
Some people I know are in the Halloween to Christmas camp, as in, their Christmas tree goes up right when the last trick or treater leaves their porch. If you want to, great, but I like to have Thanksgiving/Autumn in between and then start Christmas on the day after Thanksgiving.
Last Saturday, I had to get out of the house and see what Hobby Lobby had to offer in terms of fall decor. I’ve found several things there before that I’d fallen in love with, such as our Welcome to the Ranch sign and wooden bison print.
The store was very busy, and yes, they were in full Christmas swing. There were still had several aisles of fall merchandise, which was marked down to 60% off!
I found this awesome owl..
A new tablecloth for the dining room and this platter of sorts is actually brown leather (or vinyl) but not plastic or glass that you’d usually find. I thought it would be perfect for my old Partylite candle holders I’ve had for a hundred years but still love.
I went to search for candles but their selection wasn’t huge. I opted for these led tealights that came in these nice frosted glass holders. I like the way they glow and also not having to worry about an open flame, though they are protected in these tall metal sleeves.
I was almost ready to text Bill (yes, he came with and was nosing around looking at clock inner workings) when I found these pumpkins. I love the rustic wood and they look great on my fireplace mantel.
One last sweep and I had to laugh when I found these coasters. I have these, well, a few remaining. Before we redid our floors we had a large dark blue area rug with a leaf print, the same color as these coasters. If a coaster was dropped on the rug, it would blend in and we wouldn’t find it until we were pulling it out of the vacuum cleaner.
So here we are, another holiday season in a year that’s gone by in a blink of an eye. Christmas will be here soon enough, I’ll be over here with my owl and pumpkins.
I love the owl! I still have to take my Halloween stuff down but I might just go straight to Christmas. It did snow today so it’s legit.
Thanks, me too! We’ve heard owls in our neighborhood, I hope they return. I really could just leave up my Halloween stuff all year.. LOL
