Nano Poblano 2022

Nov 1, 2022

Today is the first day of Nano Poblano! It’s an annual blogging challenge for the month of November. I decided to do it again (last attempt was in 2020) even though it will be a busy month for me. We have an amazing group of peeps (peppers!) over at Cheer Peppers on Facebook. I’m excited for the next 30 days.

This afternoon I went out to my leaf covered garden, and was able to ironically grab a pic of my very own, nano poblano. Google defines nano as extremely small. This is my sole poblano plant that I started from seed this spring, along with 11 of his siblings, which unfortunately didn’t make it. He flowered very, very late in the season and has just now started to produce tiny peppers. I will try to dig him up, pot him, and see how he does indoors. Worth a try. Bummer no chile rellenos this year. If I can get some decent peppers inside and harvest his seeds, I’ll be able to keep the chain going like I have for my other peppers.

So! Here we go! Blogging for the next 30 days, visiting and promoting other bloggers in this challenge. Join us if you’d like!

    1. Ha! That worked out kind of funny. When I first saw Ra’s post, I thought of my struggling poblano plant with its teeny peppers. Though I wish I had full size poblanos, I’m glad I got tiny peppers. I hope I can save it.

  1. I had similar luck with my peppers: only two small ones, which tasted delicious. But my tomatoes went wild. By the way, I never made the connection with the word “nano “ before now!

    1. Yes, I figured nano meant “micro” (like nanosecond) but when I saw “extremely small” I laughed out loud. We planted beefsteak tomatoes and they were so late this year. I just brought in green tomatoes today.
