It’s time for our annual tradition, every November 15th, opening day of gun season, to watch Escanaba in da Moonlight, and have pasties and Leinenkugel for dinner. Our local pasty shop still had plenty, but I was unable to find original Leinenkugel, so I had to settle for Berry Weiss.
The movie would make more sense if you are from Michigan, and it’s more funny/weird, than funny, but it’s a classic to us and just another of our crazy traditions, like driving over the Ohio River bridge singing the theme song to WKRP in Cincinnati.
It’s a Tuesday and the next three days will be long, but it was nice having something fun to look forward to.
