I cannot believe how dark it is at 1:30pm. It’s a cold, gray rainy Sunday in November and I’ll shortly close the curtains and light some candles in efforts to stave off this miserable so called daylight. Today is the epitome of bleak. But! I did get some Christmas decor up yesterday and I’m about to hang my favorite string of lighted garland on my staircase banister, which lifts my spirits every year. Then I’ll bake some cookies and go over my list for Monday, which will be my last day of work for a while.
Watching
We started Black Summer on Netflix which we found to be rather good! It’s kind of the Walking Dead meets Children of the Corn. We’re enjoying it so far. Last night we binged the entire series of The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window. Also a good, twisty series. Finally, we watched The Gift, with Jason Bateman. It’s been out a few years now, but a thriller worth watching!
And tonight is Yellowstone and Tulsa King!
Reading
Instead of reading, how about I share with you the books I bought? LOL Which is a totally separate hobby from reading. I’m waiting on one more book for my Christmas Horror TBR list. Hopefully I can wrap up the two ebooks I’m reading and dive into that list. I also downloaded a book on speed reading, which I thought would be beneficial. Some of the techniques are quite interesting.
Listening
A fellow bookworm in The Book Hangout Spot on Facebook shared the most awesome idea. On YouTube or Spotify for example. search for background sounds that pertain to the book you are reading. Does your current read take place by the ocean? Search for “beach sounds” and listen to crashing waves as you read. Are you reading a spooky tale that is set in the deep woods? Search “forest sounds at night”. I can’t wait to try this!
I hope your Thanksgiving week was peaceful and you got some time to yourself. What do you do to unwind?
Yesterday it was really dark and it was around 3pm. By 5:30pm I am thinking it’s bed time as it is so dark out. It makes me want to get into bed earlier. I haven’t watched Black Summer, I actually haven’t heard of it. I hope you had a good Sunday. Thank you for sharing.
