We’re in Day 9 of Nano Poblano and I had to dig into the several writing prompt books I have to come up with a topic. I flipped through the first book and felt this was perfect, with my upcoming hip surgery. I told myself when I had my last hip done that would never take mobility for granted, and I haven’t, but instead got another hefty reminder.
So.
I cannot WAIT to do the following again and will cherish every minute:
- Walking. A lot. Through the grocery store. Around my block. A long hike in the woods, during all seasons.
- Walking on my treadmill at home and at the gym listening to podcasts.
- Getting in and out of my kayak.
- Riding my motorcycle.
- Stretching. I plan to try yoga after I recover.
- Sleeping through the night and rolling over without pain.
- Using the bathroom like a normal person.
- Getting up from a sitting position without spending 30 minutes laying flat trying to straighten out before I can limp around again.
- SO. MANY. THINGS. that require mobility.
I’m hopeful. I’m excited. I’m grateful that I can have this procedure.
20 more days of the most painful year of my life.
Oh I really feel for you. So many things we take for granted when our bodies work as they should! I hope those 20 days fly by!
Thank you, me too! This has been an experience.
