Well, I’m a tad late for coffee but I’d love for you to join me for an evening toddy. Or you can still have coffee, if you drink it this late. Or tea. I missed our coffee share as I slept in until 10:30am this morning. We did Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving again on Friday and by last night my hip was absolutely screaming. We watched TV in bed and Bill brought me a painkiller, which I rarely take. After a while it was lights out for me.
How was your week? Your Thanksgiving, if you celebrate it? Ours was very nice. We had Bills’ folks over, and our dinner was catered by Cracker Barrel, which was a first time for us.
Everything was great except they gave us 2 orders of mashed potatoes and no cornbread stuffing, so Bill had to jet to the grocery store. Kind of a bummer but I get that it probably was a very hectic time packing these orders and things happen. I was just really looking forward to the stuffing! LOL Bill got every variety of Stove Top there was, bless his heart, and I made the cornbread variety, which everyone loved. In fact, everyone raved over the turkey so much that I might just do this next year.
We have had several days of really nice weather for late November. 50s and sunny. I’m sure this worked out wonderfully for everyone out putting up Christmas lights or going out and getting their tree. I didn’t decorate outside but I did get all my Fall/Thanksgiving decor put away and Bill got down some of my Christmas decor, so I had fun decorating indoors today.
Bill rode his new to him bike a few times and has been tinkering with it since he brought it home. I’m so happy he finally got this bike, as he’s been searching for it for several years. It’s a 1971 Kawasaki A7 Avenger 350, very similar to his first bike, which was a 1969. Now we have enough motorcycles to start a small bike club. 🙂
I was also elated to be notified late last night that the new treadmill I ordered has shipped! It was in Des Planes, IL on the 25th, which isn’t too terribly far from us, so I’m thinking it will be here sooner rather than later. I can’t wait to have a treadmill again. Walking is my favorite exercise and I’m told to do LOTS of it with my new hip. Sign me up.
Well thank you for stopping by and I look forward to catching up with you! Thank you Natalie for hosting our Weekend Coffee Share!
Glad you had a good holiday! Congratulations on the new treadmill!
Thank you!
Thanksgiving dinner in a box–I love it!

I saved the box to put my Fall/Thanksgiving decor in! Ha!
Thank you for your weekend coffee share. I’m glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. Catering is an excellent idea as you’ve been experiencing hip pain. I hope your surgery goes on as scheduled and smoothly so you can enjoy your new treadmill and get your health back.

It worked out well. Glad to have these options. Thank you!
I always thought Cracker Barrel was a Midwestern thing but I did a quick Google search to find one in the LA County area and another in the county over.
Great! Have you been before? Highly recommend.
Hi Kathleen – I love the idea of a pre-packed family meal – a lot less time and effort and obviously it was great value for money. Sorry to hear that your hip was bothering you, but you must be almost at D-Day for your op. I hope it goes really well and your result is as great as mine’s been – maybe one day we’ll compare scars!
Haha, comparing scars would be great! Mine looks pretty scary. A lot more bruising this time but they said it’s normal.
Cracker Barrel Thanksgiving dinner sounds like a great option, especially with a bum hip. I hope you enjoy the treadmill. I’ve thought of getting a treadmill desk so I could move while slogging through my email.
It worked out very well! I thought of those too, or like an under the desk cycle. Not sure how I could type with that movement though.
