Good Morning and come on in out of the cold! Yikes! I am not ready for 32 F. Let me pour you a cup of coffee or tea and we’ll catch up! Make yourself comfy.
I’m delighted to be sitting here listening to the hum of our now working again dishwasher. A faulty water inlet valve was the culprit, and when Bill pulled the dishwasher out to replace the valve, it literally fell apart in his hands. Aha! Several minutes later and we’re back in business. Then we went on to discuss the kitchen remodel since the flooding did a number on the floor. I’m seriously considering doing the remodel ourselves, we don’t have that complicated of a layout. I may spend my recovery time watching YouTube videos and getting an idea of just what we’d be getting ourselves into.
I don’t think my poblano plant that I brought inside is going to get much bigger, the smaller peppers have dropped off the plant, unfortunately. I might just be able harvest the seeds of my one pepper, so that I can have great grand-poblanos next summer. The leaves were quite droopy all summer in my garden, even with enough water, but I still wanted to try saving it.
Today will be my fun day this weekend, I’ll be helping a writer friend with her blog and then having friends over to visit this evening. Sunday I’ll be catching up on work as I know so many 11th hour items will appear before my departure and next week is a short week.
TEN DAYS until my surgery! I’m excited to start shopping for treadmills and maybe snag one during the Black Friday sales. Next week will be hairy as I obsess over every last detail to button up for work, documenting everything, making sure my teammates know where I keep everything, etc. But the finish line is in sight.
Thank you Natalie for hosting our Weekend Coffee Share! I’ll be hobbling over to visit shortly.
It’s wonderful that you now have a working dishwasher again! Sounds like a fun project to look into remodelling the kitchen by yourselves. I hope everything goes well this coming week, and that you can focus on your surgery and getting back on your feet afterwards. Have fun with your friends tonight!
Thank you Maria! We had a great visit. My work is coming together and I feel like it’s all under control. I always stress over work before I’m absent, whether on vacay or an absence like this. I don’t want to leave a mess for anyone that might need to step it and handle something for me.
Glad the dishwasher is back to working and it was something simple. Hope all goes well with your surgery, I send my prayers and well wishes. Try some epsom salt in the soil with the pepper.
Thank you for the well wishes and for the tip! I’ll look into that.
16 degrees here this morning! Ugh! Wishing you a peaceful and productive last week of work… And an amazingly perfect surgical, outcome, and recovery! May all be well in your world!
I don’t know if my original comment went through or not so I will try again… Wishing you a very productive last week of work. And also hoping for an amazingly perfect surgical outcome and recovery!
Oh… And… 16° here this morning. Way too early for that!
Thank you! I did get your comment. Ugh. I’m not looking forward to the teens.. I’m sure we’ll have our share of that this season.
Here’s hoping the surgery goes well! Happy recovery:-)

Thank you so much!
Hi Kathleen,
Sorry to hear about the water damage.
The things we put up with as home owners.
I don’t think I would try the remodel myself. I like working with my hands and tools, but I’m not so good as to want to live with my work for as long as I’d be in the house.
This sounds like a job for a real contractor to me.
I would agree but we have been burned so many times by “professionals” that I’m willing to give it a go myself.
It’s great to have a working dishwasher again. I hope everything goes well at work this coming week and you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Best wishes for your surgery and recovery. Thank you for your weekend coffee share.

Thank you so much! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Hi Kathleen – how exciting to be in the final week’s countdown to your surgery. I hope all goes well and there are no last minute glitches. Glad the dishwasher’s back in business and that you have a project to research while you recover. I’m doing really well – nearly at week 6 post-op and walking like a champion – still need to build up some extra distance, but no limp and no deep groin pain anymore – just some mild flank pain from the cutting and sewing.
I’m so happy to hear that Leanne! Must be such a great feeling! Glad you’re healing up well. I’m trying to remember the days after my last hip and what things were like. I just can’t WAIT to move again. I picked out a new treadmill and I’m so excited to order it!
Yay for a working dishwasher. Since I’m so far behind on commenting, you are even closer to your surgery day! Yay!
I can’t wait!
If you do end up doing the kitchen remodel yourself, I look forward to following it! My husband and I are looking to remodel the kitchen ourselves by replacing the cabinet and tiling the backsplash and replacing the basin and so forth. It’s so exhausting listing it all!
Thank you, I will! Installing the backsplash will be the biggest challenge, I think. Luckily, hubs has experience installing cabinets and appliances. And we’ve already done flooring projects, so that won’t be a new adventure.
