One aspect of photography that I love around this time of year is Blue Hour – the period of time after the sun dips below the horizon and a bluish tone is cast on the landscape, also known as twilight. I’ve always loved this time, especially in the winter, the cold, creepy blue light that covers everything and turns the snow covered fields into a vast, frozen unknown.
With less daylight this time of year, there will be lots of opportunity for blue hour photos. I found an Android app called Blue Hour which returns the time for not only Blue Hour, but also Golden Hour, sunrise and sunset. You can also set reminders for the beginning and end of each event.
Photogs, when is your favorite time to get out there?
