Inspiration has struck, and the words are forming in my head faster than I can type them. I wish this would happen more often! LOL Most of the time I struggle for an interesting blog topic to share. But today, I’ve had a lot on my mind, all having to do with what I’ll do next, and where I want to be exactly one year from now.

A dear friend wrote a recent blog post that had me jumping with excitement, it’s like she reached into my brain and pulled out the thoughts I was having. She goes beyond having goals and dreams, but defining your purpose. Our time on this earth is limited, what mark will you leave behind in this life? Head on over to Dues N Dont’s and check it out!

For way too many years I really had no direction. Now that I do, life is so much more exciting, more fun, it has more MEANING. We’ve all heard about having goals, defining exactly what you want, writing it down and taking action. Last year, at this time was the first year I actually did just that. Seriously. Better late than never, I suppose!

It’s so exciting to build a plan, work it and track your success. I’m excited to look back in six months, even three months to see how far I will have come, even if only a small amount. I will never again ring in another new year without doing this.

Lots of cool things are in the works this year, and I can’t wait to work with the amazing people I’ve met along the way and see where our journeys take us in 2014, and all we will have to look back on.

It’s definitely going to be one hell of a year!

p.s. The photo above I took with my phone, on a lunch date with a friend a while back.  I looked at the EXIF data of the photo when I went to include it in this post – it was taken on 1/4/2013.  Exactly one year ago today.   And no, that was not planned!

  1. Kathleen – Honored to be another of your friends. Watching all of this come together for you: all the soul-searching, the exploration, the testing of your creative limits is…well…inspiring.
    You (quite simply) rock.
    Hugs, and happy new year.

    1. Kathleen, thank YOU! You are for sure amongst the amazing people on this journey that I’ve been so blessed to meet. That could and will be an entire other blog post on its own!
