This installment of Self Care Sunday falls on a day to relax but also gear up for the work week. If you read my Back to the Ranch series I just finished, we are home from our annual two week jaunt out west to South Dakota. In the midst of unpacking and doing laundry, I still want to revisit all I’ve taken in lately that brings me joy.
Reading
Oh wow. So much on my TBR and I can’t take a vacay without buying more books. I did however finish Write for Your Life by Anna Quindlen. It is a fast, easy read. I know this is a book I’ll refer back to and it’s inspired me to keep writing. I also bought Keep Going: The Art of Perseverance by Joseph M. Marshall III, while visiting Bear Butte.
Watching
We have two series right now that we need to catch up on – Better Call Saul and Stranger Things. Truth be told, we had some really nice evening weather in the weeks before we left for vacation so I’ve been spending evenings sitting outside on the patio and not watching much TV!
Listening To
I recently remembered that on YouTube there is a TedX channel. A co-worker shared a link for a certain talk as as I was browsing I found SO many more I want to listen to. Subscribed!
During the Sturgis rally, my friend Kim highly recommended and bought a CD of this band, Arcana Kings, that played at Loud American in Sturgis. I look forward to giving them a listen on Spotify.
What have you been reading, watching, listening to, or anything else to indulge in self care?
I drove today and listened to classical music. It helped me get thru the roundabout
That’s awesome, I hate roundabouts! I like instrumentals when working.. Especially George Winston piano.
I didn’t know about the Anna Quindlen book. It’s going straight to the top of my TBR pile. Thanks!
Janet Alcorn recently posted…Summer in Tucson part 2: more rain, more sunsets, more bats
I hope you like it!! It really resonated with me and I think I’ll be referring back to it.
