Today was the day for our annual excursion up to mid-Michigan for the A1 Swap and Show, sponsored by A1 Upholstery out of New Lothrop. Driving north on I-75, we started the day officially with Stompin’ Tom Connor’s The Snowmobile Song.
The show was at new location this year, Showboat Park in Chesaning. We didn’t know what to expect and let the GPS guide us there, until we saw a glimpse of the vendors as we rounded a curve.
The venue was nice, and seemed to be organized, with rows of trailers circling the baseball diamond. We did miss, however, the ruralness of walking through a harvested cornfield, dodging the stalks poking up from the ground. This has to be the sixth or seventh show that we’ve attended, and the rural farm setting became part of the whole experience.
We ride vintage Kawasaki sleds, and we were happy to see several looking pretty good. Below is a 1977 Invader 440.
Loved the headlights on these Polaris sleds!
Nice looking Trail Cat.
A 1980 Invader 440, in very good shape!
Skies looked wicked all day.
No snow? No problem!
Love the Kitty Cats!
Very cool Vintage Polaris exhibit.
We didn’t find anything, but it was a nice late fall day to be outside and up north. I did purchase some ear muffs and gloves, since I’m never prepared.
Bill spotted several old trucks for sale along M-57 on our way back to I-75.
Had a great day.. The only thing missing was the snow flurries!
