Still with me? Cool.
I woke up Monday with a screaming bladder and went for what seemed like an excruciating long walk to the bath house. I was glad to have awoken this early, though, because it was approximately 5am, and the sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon. Standing in a cow pasture in my pajamas, I captured my first South Dakota sunrise. Yes, my first! I’m never up this early.
Threatening clouds lurked in the west, and I went back to bed expecting rain to hit the tent, but awoke to blue skies. Camp is still pretty empty.
We visited J&P Cycle in Sturgis for some highway pegs, practically a ghost town.
I smiled when I overheard a staff member say to another:
“Straighten up that name badge, sir..”
“It’s as crooked as my mind.” was the reply.
Hahaha..
Speaking of ghost towns, Galena and Spokane ghost towns are on the agenda for tomorrow! I hope we can find them and they don’t disappoint.
