It was a good day, today I found some clarity on what I want to do with my photography. For now. LOL Here we go again!
Next Sunday is the 2nd Annual Holiday Shoppe, hosted by my dear friend, Lori Brauer. I attended first Holiday Shoppe and then the Handmade Market, displaying my fine art photography. Although fun, it was a stretch and I ultimately learned that the “art show” type venues are really not a fit for my introverted self. I’ll still be attending the show next week to photograph the event, and my niece will be in attendance, showcasing her handmade scarves and accessories.
2014 started out with lofty goals, but as it evolved, much soul searching took place which resulted in paring down much of what I’ve involved myself in, in the past years. What remained true to my soul is that stock photography is my thing. I love searching and brainstorming for subject ideas, doing the market research, creating and editing the photo, uploading and watching my portfolio grow.
Yes, the money trickles in, for now. It’s not much, but it’s becoming more and more consistent, and above all, I love the work, and that’s what matters. I’m intrigued and motivated to see what I could do with this if I put forth a serious, constant effort. Which is what I plan to do in 2015.
In this post are several examples of my stock photography. My entire portfolio is on Dreamstime, as I’m an exclusive photographer for that agency. I’ve begun to also build my Pinterest board with my work. In the coming months I look forward to posting weekly to my blog about my work in stock photography, sharing my most recently accepted photos and the stories behind them.
To my loyal followers (all three of you!), I thank you. I hope you’ll accompany me on my next journey.
Kathleen what a great portfolio … so glad you have found “your thing.” Dreamstime has found a great photographer.
