Thank you for joining me for a beverage on this Sunday evening. I missed the Weekend Coffee Share but would still love to catch up. Have a seat and I’ll get you a drink.
How was your week? Mine flew by. SO busy at work. I caught up today and yesterday from home just to unearth myself a bit for Monday. I was able to catch up with a good friend and co-worker on Saturday, before I dove into my paper for my Lean Six Sigma certification. On Friday I was horrified to learn that the deadline is November 17th (I thought we had a year to complete it, not that I wanted to procrastinate that much). But Saturday I spent several hours and I’d say I’m about 75% complete. A few more days to review and I should be in good shape.
The Halloween decorations came down and if you follow my blog, Facebook or Instagram you’ll know this is a somber time. We had a great season despite the horrible crappy weather Halloween night which resulted in about 15 trick or treaters and a TON of leftover candy that I must give away ASAP. Even the skeletons did not want the last of the decor boxed up.
But, most everything is boxed up and back in the garage attic (Bill put all the boxes up while I was at lunch and I didn’t even notice until the next day!) Today I went shopping for Fall/Thanksgiving decor. I’ve never really done much in the past, but this year I’m in the mood, especially for red and black plaid, something that’s more Fall than Thanksgiving/Christmas. I found this small wall hanging at Rural King today:
And fell in love with these pillows! I bought two.
I enthusiastically signed up for both NaBloPoMo and Nano Pablano, both blog challenges in the month of November. And here I am, November 3rd with my first post. Sigh. What is that they say about the road to hell?
I hope you had a great week. I will say goodnight as Monday comes early, even though we got an extra hour back.
Join us at Eclectic Alli’s Weekend Coffee Share and tell us what’s going on in your world!
I adore your tablescape, and those pillows are awesome! I can totally see why they tickled your fancy. 🙂
Thanks! I love the pillows, they’re very full and cushy too..
It’s starting to get close to Christmas craft time for me too! Every year, I make ornaments for people out of slices of cherry branches that have come down from our cherry tree. I have a wood burner and I use the letters to spell out Peace, Joy, Noel, and so on. It’s a lot of fun!

How cool!! Do you have a post about those with pics?
Hi Kathleen,
I’m glad you jumped in and stopped by. You’re always welcome here.
I had to laugh with a grimace at you discovering the new shorter time frame for your SS certification paper. That has happened to me and I’ve had to drop other things and scramble to meet my expectations. I was surprised to find that my writing went surprisingly well under the “Oh No!” stress.
We had a wild week here in Sonoma County, California with the fire. We were close enough to be under alert for evacuation warning, lost power for 5 days and hosted 3 friends in our dark and cold home until they were able to return home. Work was spotty and writing was nearly null.
I was able to do some much needed clean up on two existing stories and was surprised how well they were received. My coffee share for the previous weekend (during the power outage) was late and barely noticed, but I still had plenty of visitors to my collection so I’ll take it as a good week despite.
Okay, enough loafing. Both of us need to get to work, but I always enjoy your visits and hope you have a very productive week.
Blessings
Thank you Gary! I can’t wait to put up my celebratory post when I become certified! I did get more done today and submitted my draft to my consultant for review. What a week you’ve all had! Hopefully the fire has been contained by now?
You are so awesome, almost finished with the certification that you thought you had a lot more time to finish! That’s fabulous! I imagine your surprise discovering the actual deadline! Phew…glad you are taking charge of getting it done!
I love your new fall decor, those pillows are fabulous. Thank you for the coffee!
I was surprised all right! LOL Thanks! The table runner is new too. I’m having fun decorating for Fall.. I kind of have it backwards. I love Halloween so much I start September 1st. Then Fall comes after Halloween and mashes up with Thanksgiving. Thanks for stopping by!
Lovely autumn decorations. Good luck finishing your project by the deadline. You can do it!
