Happy Saturday!  We’re halfway through October and I still have decorating to do!  Boxes everywhere. Please, make your way through the obstacle course of my living room and join me for a morning beverage.

How’s your October so far? I’m trying to get in one more camping trip (surprised?) before we winterize.  Plus, we need to take the trailer in to have the ladder fixed that that texting dipshit broke. Running out of time. But on a brighter note…

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you about what I plan to create today – Rice Krispie Frankensteins, Halloween Pretzel Bark and a friend shared a video of Puppy Chow – OMG, I must try it. I have Halloween nonpareils that will be perfect. And everything birthday cake flavored should be a controlled substance. This will be a challenge since I’ve done very well getting back on the Healthy Wagon and I’m down about 5 lbs. Ugh!

This weekend is the Ziegler Fall Nationals (snowmobile grass drags!!) and I’m so bummed we can’t be there. We had a prime campsite held right by the track and the vendors. Bill had to work today though. But, it works out because I have plenty to get done today anyhow. We’re supposed to have 70 degrees today so a ride is in order when he gets home. I can then do my leather jacket review for Motorcycle House! So it’s okay. We plan to head out to the race tomorrow, so we won’t miss it all. Super excited!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you about the camera phone lenses Bill surprised me with! Having a ton of fun with them. They just clip to your phone over the lens and include a macro lens, wide angle and fisheye. #besthusbandevah! They’ve been really fun to use for the Photo a Day Challenge.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how glad I am to be out of mobile data jail – I had my mobile data shut off from Monday to Thursday of last week to avoid overages – LOL. Uploading Bill’s MIS video from the campsite earlier this month chewed a good bit of it. And I tether off my phone when blogging from the campsite.

I LOVED being able to catch a glimpse of the USS Detroit as she arrived in Detroit yesterday. I saw posts on Facebook about her whereabouts (north end of Lake Saint Clair, etc.) and was able to determine her location using Boatnerd. I saw her in the binoculars just coming around Belle Isle (gasp!) and was able to snap a few pics before I had to get to a meeting. Now she’s resting comfortably in front of the Renaissance Center waiting for her official commissioning on October 22nd. I look forward to walking over on my lunch hour for more close up pics. 🙂

So what’s new with you, my friend?  I hope this season is treating you well so far. More coffee?

  1. Thanks for coffee! I love your you skull placemat as I’m a ‘skully’ collector 🙂
My brother brought me a set of those clip on phone lenses and they were so much fun to use. Enjoy.

    1. Hi Claire! Thanks for stopping by! Yes, I love all the sugar skull stuff out there! I think I’ll be using the lenses quite a bit.. 🙂 Have a great day!

    1. Thanks Pamela! Yes, I hope to get one more trip in. I can’t wait to try the fish eye lens – that should be fun! 🙂

  2. Thanks for coffee Kathleen. I’ve wondered about those lens that fit on the phones. I might get one myself. Would love to see the close-ups you get of the USS Detroit.

    1. Hi Irene, thanks for reading! Yes, I can’t wait to go down and check it out – I’ll bring my zoom lens in case I can’t get close. I’m lucky to be right down there during the day and have the opportunity.

  3. Thanks very much for the coffee, Kathleen. I was interested in that lens kit for your camera phone. I have a Nikon DSLR and am a camera snob. Besides, pulling out my camera with it’s big zoom lens opens doors and helps me look like a press photographer, which comes in handy getting shots for the blog.
I hope you have a great week!
    xx Rowena

    1. Hi Rowena! Thanks for visiting! I’ve had fun with the lenses, they’re handy to use and experiment with. But yes, had some fun with my DSLR today on the Detroit River. I have a Nikon D5500. You?

  4. OK, the lense is going to have to be a Christmas present to myself. Looks fun. Being to the point of overages on data is not. I wish it could just be free data with your cellular service like free texting and calls.
