You must think by now all I do is camp. How I wish! I’m delighted to be here at Sleepy Hollow State Park on this balmy 46 degree morning for Ichabod Crane Days! It’s the start of a beautiful, chilly fall day and I look forward to sharing with you the festivities of this weekend.
How was your week? I’m hoping this winter goes by as fast as summer did. Although it will give me time to catch up on so many things on my to do list. I’m having fun with the FMS Photo a Day Challenge, I don’t why I didn’t do one of these years ago. I guess because my focus was too narrow, I was always drawn to outdoor and landscape photography mostly, but this challenge has been a fun way to stretch whatever creative muscles I might have. I’m also using Instagram more, which is where the photos are shared with the #fms_photoaday hashtag. It’s neat to scroll through and see what others come up with for the daily theme.
Speaking of Instagram, I got a huge kick when Jesse James Dupree starting following me on Wednesday of this week! Puh pow! Yes, I realize it’s very, very, VERY likely not actually him and someone on his media team. And, it was right after I liked one of his Instagram photos. But it was cool nonetheless.
If we were having coffee, I’d mention that I will soon be a month behind on blog posts if I don’t get going! Wow. I have six posts that are percolating in my head and in my notebook, waiting to make their way to the screen. I need to figure out how to put more hours in the day! If you have any ideas, let me know.
Well, I think I’ll bundle up and take a stroll through the campground. Our section alone last night was all aglow with orange lights and pumpkins. Join me? We’ll take our coffee in travel mugs.

I now do things as I have time. I try and read as many blog as I can. We like the outdoors and nature and our pictures show that.

I love your photos, Betty! And Kato stories.. 🙂
Okay, I came for the Monkees mug, and now I’m trying to figure out how I could possibly be a native upstate New Yorker, and not have known Ichabod Crane Days are a thing?
I’m going to have to look that up. My kids and I are planning a road trip this weekend, and the Catskills are within our travel range. =)
Until then, I’ll enjoy the walk with you! And dibs on that mug! =D
Haha, thanks, Shan! I love the mugs, my hubs is a huge Monkees fan and he ordered them. We were lucky to see them in Detroit last year, of course unfortunately sans Davy. I just learned about Ichabod Crane Days last year at this campground – it’s east of Lansing, Michigan and basically their Halloween campout weekend. We had such a ball, I have a blog post simmering to be posted this week. Thanks for reading!
