Perkins Coffee Mug

Hello, dear friends!  It’s been SO long. I’ve been on a blog hiatus, though that wasn’t the intention. I’ve missed you all – we have a lot of catching up to do!

Where to start? Well, for one, we should have been snowmobiling up north this weekend, had there been any snow. There was great riding in the upper peninsula, but it’s just too far to drive without having any additional days off. We’re doing the snow dance for this weekend and the weekends to come. Instead, we attended the camper show in Novi and met up with my sisters and in-laws. We had a great time but it was PACKED. I’m happy because it’s a good sign for the economy, but concerned that now the campgrounds will also be just as full this summer! We shall see.

If we were having coffee, I’d mention some of the new lighting ideas we got from the camper show – rope lighting tucked under the countertop edges and also the bottom of the kitchen cabinets. Maybe even something with the built in wine rack. They had brown leather recliners also that I really liked. I can’t wait to see what we can do with our rig this year to change things up.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that even though I feel winter drags on, I can’t believe we are halfway through February!  Wasn’t New Year Eve just last week?  Sigh.. Well, we’re this much closer to spring. Bad for snowmobiling, good for camping and motorcycling. I plan to do more with gardening this year, if anything, I’ll use pots to be able to move things around.

If we were having coffee, I’d mention a neat idea I read about in Imagine the Life You’d Love to Live, Then Live It, by Peg Conley.  She talks about throwing Solstice parties, in which friends gather, eat, drink, be merry, and write lists of what they’d like to release with the changing of the season and bring into their lives with the new season. A bonfire is built and the lists they write are then tossed into the flames, to be carried up to the Great Spirit to read. What a cool idea that I may just start. Even if it’s only me out by the fire.  LOL

By the way, I just realized that the full justification button went away with the new WordPress version. Seriously? I like my text full justified rather than left. Soooo, if you install a plugin it will put it back for you. Problem solved!

Well, enough about me. You know I’m not the chatterbox. Sometimes I wonder why I even have a blog..  How are YOU, my dear friend? More coffee?

  1. Oh, I so miss camping. We would go with my sister and her family and sometimes extra friends… best place to relax completely. Time goes so fast, it’ll be spring before we know it!
