Good Morning, dear friend! Check out that SNOW we had this morning! Huge, beautiful flakes coming down.. Too bad it didn’t stick around. Now it’s just wet and soggy.
How are you? Come on in and warm up. Pick your pod, or I have a variety of teas as well. Make yourself comfy. Happy Belated St. Patrick’s Day! Do anything fun? It’s been years since I went out (not that I miss it!), but we did a small potluck at work for which I brought the below treats, and Friday night I couldn’t resist dropping some green food coloring into my wine, just to be in the spirit.
.
How’s your weekend going so far? No trips or work on the flooring here – again, but Saturday I ate the frog. I got up, went through all the papers on my desk, filed, shredded, paid bills, and then……………did our taxes. I dread it every year, but it wasn’t as bad as I feared, and they’re now ready to print and mail. Sigh. Onward. Today I need to write the project plan for a relatively complicated and time consuming task at work. So today after our coffee, another frog.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I was visited today again by my dear cardinal couple. They hang out in my burning bush tree outside my dining room window. Their distinctive chirp lets me know they’ve dropped in. I was able to zoom in and get a few shots.
.
My feathered friends are more visible in the winter, without the leaves on the bush. I wonder just how long they’ve been coming to visit.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’ve basically accepted the end of snowmobile season (all we have is next weekend and it’s looking bleak), and I’ve turned my attention to camping, riding and gardening. I bought seeds today for basil and jalapeno peppers! Since I don’t have a designated plot for a garden, I think I will put them in pots throughout my wildflower garden and see how they do. I can’t wait to have basil! I can’t find it anywhere this time of year.
And CAMPING! I booked a site at Holly Recreation Area for mid-April. We’re only a month out! I am so ready. I have some planning to do – my Camp Cooking series will start up again here on my blog and I’m looking forward to trying new things.
Monday is the Spring Equinox. I’m hoping the weather holds out for a celebratory campfire.
What’s new with YOU? Need a warm up on your coffee?

Haha, luckily ours are pretty simple. Thanks, the cookies were super easy to make!
I like seeing the cardinal. We don’t have them here in the Northwest. Enjoy your camping time.

I love that they visit every weekend. Maybe every day, I’m just not there.
Those cookies look amazing! I wish I had a Cook that would make them for me. Alas, my Cook is in the same place as my Housekeeper – behind a heap of cash that I don’t have. :o)

Haha, they’re pretty easy! Melt some vanilla candy coating and voila!
That’s some lovely photos of the cardinal couple. So gorgeous. Looks like you’ve had a busy week. Hope the week ahead is awesome!
Thank you! Too bad the branches were in the way, I’d have liked to get a clearer shot of Mr. Cardinal.
Ditto on those cookies and how exciting that you’re going camping soon #sojealous #havefun and love the cardinals too!
Thanks Deb! Yes, I’m over the moon excited! I could go every single weekend if possible.
Looks delicious! Have a great week!
Lovely pictures of the cardinals! I haven’t been so lucky this year. Have not seen a one. Hmmm…
I am totally done with the snow. After getting about 2+ feet last Tuesday to Wednesday (and they say more is coming tomorrow (Wednesday)). Bring son the spring-like temps, the bird sounds and the smell of rot!

Lol – smell of rot? Like the smell of worms after the rain?
