If We Were Having Coffee… 5/14

If we were having coffee, it’s because of an unexpected change of plans.  We were planning for months to be at Lake of Dreams campground this weekend with friends for their Wine and Beer Tasting event. Until the transmission went out on our truck at M-14 and 275 last night and we had to be towed home.  Thank God for the roadside assistance we just recently purchased, which completely covered everything. Shout out to Good Sam and Budget Towing!

It could have been so much worse and for that we’re grateful. We’re safe. No damage (except the cause of the breakdown). We were just barely able to get everything onto the shoulder and not block a lane of traffic during rush hour.  So here we are, in the trailer in our yard, having a staycation.  It’s freezing out, for mid-May. Perfect campfire weather, if the rain holds out.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m anxious to check out Intelligent Blends, makers of new recyclable K-cups. (Yes, I still love my Keurig. We recycle EVERYTHING else and I’d really like to stop pitching the pods also!)

I’m excited but of course nervous – as co-organizer of Michigan Bloggers, I’ve scheduled a June 5th meetup.  Now to find a topic idea and prepare! (biting nails)

This week, we installed a gate leading into the backyard, so we can now store the sled trailer in the backyard instead of next to the house. It was tricky and tight, but my MacGuyver husband maneuvered the trailer into it’s spot.  Now if only we had room to store the camper where I want it.

Of course we are SO GEEKED for our Sturgis trip!  I found at Aldi’s a nice, very compact backpack to use on our annual climb to Bear Butte.  You know me and my bag fetish!
