Good morning! How have you all BEEN? My last coffee share was 7/8/17.. How time flies.
It’s a beautiful morning on the patio, one that makes me wish I was at a campsite. Who am I kidding, every morning makes me wish I was at a campsite. The air is cool, the coffee is hot, and the jays and crickets are chirping.
Wow, where do I even start? We missed Sturgis this year and instead went to Florida to visit my Dad who was having some health issues. He’s doing well and on the mend, thank God. We did get in some sightseeing during our stay and visited Destination Daytona – Bruce Rossmeyer’s Harley Davidson, Flagler Beach, Jetty Park and Castillo de San Marcos in gorgeous St. Augustine.
Because I thought we were going on family business and not so much vacation, I didn’t bring my DSLR. (I know! First rule! Always bring the camera..) We drove, too, it’s not like I had to carry on it a plane. So the shots I got were with my point and shoot and not technically good enough for stock (crying) but I will share them here.
So we’re back in town and LOTS going on at work. We’ll just leave that there. I’ve managed to limp around with my bum hip, but it’s getting worse. The steroid shot I had really didn’t do anything, unfortunately. So I now I begin the next leg of my journey, no pun intended.
BA studies are moving, but slowly. I’ve decided to go after the CCBA first as a start, since it requires less hours than the CBAP. I joined IIBA and have downloaded the BABOK (Business Analysis Book of Knowledge). Still lots of hours to accumulate on projects.
I found a cool group on Facebook called Southeast Michigan Rocks. You paint and hide rocks, with a note about the Facebook page. The idea is to take a pic, post it to the page and rehide the rock for someone else to find. Years ago I bought bags and bag and BAGS of river rock for a landscaping project. I picked out some of the larger ones and have a few to start with.. Hehehehe..
Should be fun.. We have more camping trips on the agenda and it will be fun to see if they’re found and also a way to stretch my non-existent painting skills. Check Facebook if this sounds like something you’d like to do – there are many groups out there for different areas.
Last night we had a fire and cooked dinner over it, as we often do. It was cloudy, and after a few minutes I noticed the dark sky through the trees and the stars that had begun to appear. I mentioned it to Bill and not five minutes later, a wall of white started to rise up. I got up and went around the side of the house for a better view – wow! It was like in that movie The Fog (1980). So cool! I tried to photograph it but it was too dark. It was moving quickly, no time to set up a tripod, plus, it would have been a blur. Ugh.. Timing is everything. I should keep my camera on the tripod on the patio on these evenings for such events.
The weather is growing cooler by the day.. I could sit out every night.
What’s new in your world?
Come join the #weekendcoffeeshare link up at Part Time Monster.. Don’t forget your beverage!
Sounds like it ended up being a good trip to Florida, despite that you had to travel because of your dad’s heath (glad he’s doing better) and forgot your dslr (When I do that I have to use my phone). Glad you have some camping lined up before the good weather slips away.
Thanks, Trent! It was a good visit – those side trips were a nice unexpected break, also.
Jealous of your cooler weather. I’m waiting for that here.. … … .. …
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Yes, I thought I could handle summer all year long, but I love the fall season too much..
Beautiful pics Kathleen!!
Thank you!!
Glad your Father is on the mend and you had time to enjoy the area.
Peace!

Glad your father is doing better. Sounds like a lovely Florida trip. We just got back from Florida, also (I wrote about it in my coffee share) and we also went to St. Augustine! I love it there.
