Good Morning, dear friend! I’m sorry I missed you last weekend, we were camping with friends at Maumee Bay State Park, and I’ve again fallen quite behind in my blog posts. More to come!
This morning we are at Mitchell State Park in Cadillac, in town for my niece’s wedding! There are 8 of us camping side by side for the holiday/nuptials weekend, and the weather looks to be perfect.
However, I sit here drowning my sorrows in my pumpkin spice-laced coffee on this cool, sunny morning. I rushed around as usual yesterday afternoon before we left, checking things off my list, gathering, loading the truck and trailer, trying to get on the road as soon as possible since we had a 3 hour drive in front of us.
We were 150 miles from home when Bill asked, “Did you bring your camera? I saw it sitting on the dining room table.”
Oh. My. God.
That awful, sinking feeling went through me in waves as I recollected packing for the trip – I went upstairs to get my backpack that holds my laptop and camera. Packed the laptop, cords, mouse, mouse pad, grabbed my point and shoot (Thank GOD) and its charger, just in case.
Came downstairs with the backpack and in to the truck with went. Sans my DSLR and lenses.
How in God’s green earth did I manage do this?
My niece’s wedding! Much of our family will be here and I had several shots in mind I wanted to get. Which I can still do, my little Nikon does a fine job. But obviously not the quality I get from my DSLR. And, there goes any stock photography I might have done over the long weekend.
Ugh.
My sister said, “Well, now you can relax and enjoy the wedding without having to worry about pictures..” LOL How is that even possible? It’s what I do.
More coffee? I should have brought some Bailey’s.
How was your week?
Come join the #weekendcoffeeshare link up at Part Time Monster.. Don’t forget your beverage!
Doh!
Oh no! Well I know you’ll still get some good pics ~ enjoy your weekend!
Thanks Debbie! We must camp together again some time! 🙂
I don’t think I could travel without my dSLR! At least you had a point and click and didn’t have to rely on a phone!
I usually don’t! I still can’t BELIEVE I did that.. 🙁 Yes, thank God for my back up..
Oh man! I know that sinking feeling! I’m glad, though, you at least have your back up camera! All is not lost! Enjoy your weekend! I’m sure everything will be absolutely lovely!
Thank you.. It did work itself out, actually..
I missed some posts myself because we were camping. Pumpkin spice-laced coffee sound delicious, and I am a bit jealous as I sip my mocha blend this morning. Sorry to hear about your camera mishap. Great post, thanks for sharing.
I seemed to have missed the window for linking up to the coffee share so I have attached my link below and would love it if you get a chance to stop by:
Coffee and Pictures

Definitely! Are you not able to link from Part Time Monster?
I can sympathize with you about the camera, however, having forgotten mine on several occasions, or having a dead battery in the camera, I do think there is something to be said for just enjoying the moment and not having to worry about the picture.
