Good mid-morning, my friend! It’s been a while. I’ve missed checking in with all of you and seeing what’s new in your lives. Two weeks away and blogging from the road makes it a bit difficult to get back into the pattern, but here I am. How’ve you been?
Today will be a somber day as we remember thousands of souls lost 15 years ago this morning, a day that is burned in many of our memories forever. I came into work that morning, passing the conference room and seeing our director standing in front of the TV, which was not a daily occurrence. I set my things down and returned to the conference room, watching in disbelief. The rest of the office gathered together that morning and we all sat in silence as we tried to comprehend what we were seeing.
#neverforget
On a brighter side, if we were having coffee, I’d mention that I’m looking forward to a trip to IKEA in the near future, to replace my bookcases in my office. I’ll have two of these KALLAX units side by side, and have tons more space. The open backs will also allow me to use a power outlet that my one bookcase now blocks! Yay power!
I’ll also use this time to scale down my book collection (gasp!) and declutter overall. I’m kicking around doing an “online garage sale” through ebay – I’ve been reading up on all the things laying around the house I may be able to offload. I’ve you’ve done this, I’d love to hear about it!
I’ve decided, as a Halloween addict, that 30 days is not long enough to celebrate Halloween. I used to start decorating on 10/1, but I think mid-September is quite acceptable, especially since Halloween and Christmas start appearing in the stores at the same time. ??? Yesterday while I was out I stopped at Home Depot and was instantly drawn to their display of Halloween goodness.
Hehehe.. I folded and bought a ghost projection light. Last year I went late and all they had was a spider light, amongst other picked over items. Still pretty cool.
Last weekend when we camped out in the Irish Hills, I found an awesome Halloween Manheim Steamroller cd at a flea market! I love it. Our Halloween campout is scheduled for the weekend of October 8th, Ichabod Crane Days at Sleepy Hollow State Park!
So what do you have planned for this day?
