If we were having coffee, we’d be sitting in the cool coziness of our trailer at the campsite (thanks for stopping by!) The rain finally stopped (for now!) and it’s quite humid outside. Perhaps in a few we can take a walk around the park. I’ll have to check the radar in a moment and see what today is going to do.
I knew it would rain, so I devised a plan to still make this weekend work. This weekend they are having snowmobile grass drags, a show and a craft and flea market up in Davison, near Flint. Rain and thunderstorms around and the probability kept going back and forth from 40% to 60%. Sigh. It’s been so long since we’ve gone to a grass drag race, the ones we used to go to stopped being held for whatever reason. They’re fun to watch and they get you into the spirit of the season, something to take my mind off summer ending.
I really wanted to do both, camp and go to the race. Sunday looks to be pretty nice and that’s the rain date for the race, the day we’ll be packing up to go home and be off the campsite by 1pm. So I finally decided to still come, and pay for another day at the campground if we went to the race on Sunday.
What a pleasant surprise when I called this morning to find it still on! I don’t know how, it’s pretty rainy and not that far away. We will see.
Well, the rain has started again, hitting the roof it sounds like a bubbling deep fryer. More coffee?
Perhaps we’ll call again before we leave, the radar looks like we’re in the middle of the monsoon. I can’t believe I forgot to bring a book! I always bring books camping in case of bad weather. I packed a book for Bill and left mine by the side of the bed, where I left off reading it. I do have the Kindle app on my phone so I downloaded Homecoming by Scott Langrel to read offline. I still love paper books but I also love ebooks and to me, each has a purpose. I love that I can load up my tablet with fiction novels and take them with. I can set my tablet on my elliptical and swipe through the pages, kind of hard to read a paper book while exercising. But for informational books that I reread and refer back to, I like traditional paper.
Aaaand, it looks like we’re hanging out here for the day. It’s not letting up.
What are your plans for this waterlogged Saturday?

That’s a lot of rain! It’s sprinkling here, but the wind makes it look more intense. I’m with you on the paper vs. eBook choices. Like them both. I hope the weather moderates for you. Thanks for the coffee.
Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Thanks! We lucked out and got to go to the race after all.. 🙂 I’m still amazed. I thought the day would be a washout.
I wish it would rain! We haven’t had measurable rain in over a month. Send some to Pennsylvania! 🙂 ~Tara
Wow, yes, our friends in Ohio were saying the same thing.. Things are nice and green here now, but it was pretty dry here too, this summer. Thanks for reading!
Yes, rain can made difference. Kato just woke up and is demanding attention. Ebooks are important to me as I can no longer read printed books

Hi Betty! Well, I’m sure glad there are ebooks then! 🙂 Lots of features to make things easier, too.. I miss my fur children.. Thanks for stopping by!
Sunny skies here yesterday but rain today. We have a Border Collie and he can’t help but stand out in the rain. Intellectually speaking, I know his coat is waterproof and he doesn’t seem to sense himself getting wet but he’s a smart dog and we’ve spoken to him about standing out in the rain like that and the negatives of being a “wet dog” but he hasn’t learned.
I was intrigued by your “snowmobile grass drags”. I live in Greater Sydney and we don’t get snow here, although we’ve been skiing a few times.
Hope you don’t get washed away.
xx Rowena
Hi Rowena! Thanks, I’ll be posting about the grass drags, it was a ton of fun and I got some decent pics and video. 🙂 Wow, I wonder why your pup likes the rain? But I guess if he doesn’t feel it, it wouldn’t bother him? Yeah, wet dog is no fun.. Too funny.. Thanks for reading!
