K-cups

Good morning, dear friend!  How nice to see you again. I’ve been up since 6:30 a.m. (yes, it’s Saturday!) and my coffee intake started a while ago, but I’ll join you for one more. How’s life? How was your summer, now that we’re two days into autumn? Ours was pretty darn incredible. I hate to see summer come to an end, but there is so much more to look forward to. Our October is shaping up to be awesome, so far. Plans are coming together. 🙂

In a few hours, I’ll meet up with a dear friend to go get my beloved new bookshelves from IKEA.  Did you know it’s pronounced ee-KAY-uh?  Yep, been saying it wrong this whole time. I can’t wait to get them assembled and reloaded with my book collection. Interestingly enough, just yesterday this link came across my Facebook newsfeed on how to weed your bookshelves. I figure now is the perfect time to thin out my collection and make a trip to the library to drop off donations. Tough, but necessary!

Tomorrow the plan is to hit the road with some dear friends and check out McCourtie Park in Jerome! From the map it appears we’ve passed it a million times, it’s just past Artesian Wells on US-12.  Road Trip Sunday! The weather forecast is sunny and nice, with a high of 73. Perfect riding weather.

More coffee?

  1. Thanks very much for the coffee, Kathleen.
I am a terrible book hoarder and we have just gained a couple of extra bookshelves as friends are moving. For better or worse, these provide homes for some of the piles around the house. I have had a few serious goes at culling the books but it’s getting harder now. I just wish I could read faster and get through them all.
Hope you have a great trip.

    1. Thanks Rowena! Same here! Some are books I haven’t read that that I’ve bought or have been given. They’re on my list to read, so I don’t want to offload them yet.

    1. Same here! If I read something and want to refer back to, it’s easier to remember which book it was in if you still have it! 🙂

  2. I stopped buy every book that caught my attention in the bookstore years ago. Now, I borrow from the library. If I like it a LOT, then I buy it. Saves money and space. Ahhh.

I’m going to read some of my 6 library books this weekend and explore nature in the cooler temps.

Thanks for the coffee. I’ve got tea at my place, iced or hot. Have a great week!

    1. I should do that – I’ve just discovered our local library (haven’t gone in years, I don’t know why). They get my book donations and I’ve visited several times. The only issue for me is the timeframe with reading a borrowed book. But you’re right, better idea to borrow it first to try it out before buying!

    1. Thanks Melissa! It went together pretty easy once I found the instructions – online!! Thanks for that tidbit of info, IKEA! I love it. I think it’s a piece of furniture I’ll keep for a very long time. Haven’t filled it yet, but that won’t be hard. LOL Have a great day!

  3. The bookshelf weeding sounds like a very healthy activity before giving them a new home on the new shelf. We have a town called Jerome in Arizona, famous ghost town, now tourist trap..but cool tourist trap.

    1. Ooh, another for the bucket list! I love Arizona, I have a brother in Phoenix. And ghost towns? Sign me up! Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Sounds like some great plans. I hate to see summer end as well. I am a warm weather person.

I never knew IKEA was pronounced that way. I’ve never heard it any other way than eye-key-ah. Sad but true confession is that I’ve never been to IKEA or even ordered from them online. I may be one of the last ones to fit into that category.

Hope you have a wonderful trip with your friends.

    1. Yes, I was surprised when I found the article! Too funny. It’s really a cool store, hope you can visit one sometime. Thank you, we had a great ride today! And thanks for reading! 🙂
