Good Morning on this snowy Michigan Sunday and welcome back to the Weekend Coffee Share! Come on in and warm up! I just saw a female cardinal in our snow-covered burning bush a short time ago, perhaps she’ll return with her husband and peck at the new suet I just put out last night.
How was your week? Wrapping things up before the short week next week? (dancing) This year has once again flown but it’s nice to look back on all the fun we had this year. I received a coupon for a free 8 x 10 calendar from Shutterfly, so I’ll be gathering photos to make our 2019. We did it last year too, it’s really neat to have a reminder each month of previous events. Grab yours by November 22nd! (I’m not an affiliate, I’m just sharing this – it’s on their website!)
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that the highlight of the week is our new wood pellet grill! Our gas grill was on its last leg, and we’ve been kicking around the idea of the wood pellet kind, rather than propane. I’m already so glad we did! The smell of a campfire every time I go to cook dinner? Where have you been all my life?
(Funny story: we pay and pull the truck up to the front of the store for loading…. and they roll out the floor model. There were plenty of grills stacked in boxes behind the floor model. Um, I’d like a brand new one in the box with all its parts and not one everyone’s had their mitts all over! The porter grumbles and returns with a large box.)
So we get it home and Bill assembles it in the garage. We fired it up, just to get the wood pellets through the auger and make sure it lit properly. Now it lives on our patio.
So now.. Thanksgiving! We host dinner for Bill’s folks on the Friday after, so we’ll have to research cooking a turkey or turkey breast on the new grill. I’m excited to experiment with the different varieties of wood pellets, too, such as apple and cherry!
So what’s new with you? More coffee?
Grab a beverage and join us over at Eclectic Ali’s for the #WeekendCoffeeShare!
