Good Morning and come on in out of the rain.. I hope this weekend is the last that winter makes an appearance! The snow is supposed to start soon and last throughout the day, leaving us with a coating to an inch.  This is really getting old!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that the rest of my weekend will be dedicated to reviewing what we covered in class on Friday – my first Lean Six Sigma Green Belt class. I did well throughout the day, my instructor was awesome, easy to follow, and I took copious amounts of notes. But when they gave us the in class exercises, they may as well have been written in another language.

I did the best I could and miraculously got 3 of the 5 correct with what I could figure out, but it was insanely confusing. I’ll need to go back over everything we covered to make sure I have it down before next Friday, when we move on to other topics. Luckily, there is a ton of support from the faculty and even videos of the instructor covering the topics in class, so I can revisit everything. I just need to put in the time.  Here we go!

I’m also very grateful for the timing, since Monday is my first remote day.  Now I will get 90 minutes back on those days that I’d spend commuting, so that adds to my study time throughout the week.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I got in a #feetupfriday campfire last night before the rain came. I’ve learned that my dear new next door neighbor is a fire bug and also spent some time with her chatting around her fire pit. I can’t wait for warmer evenings and with the crickets and the fire flies lighting up the yard.  Ahhh, summer.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I just finished Late One Night by Lee Martin on my tablet and I’m now delving into The Wilderness Within by John Claude Smith, which has really grabbed my interest. It’s a relatively short read, and I hope I can still find the time to read it.

How was your week?  Reading anything good?  Join us at Eclectic Alli’s Weekend Coffee Share and tell us about it!

  1. Wow. It’s like you’re in another universe with the weather! I’m in PA and wearing shorts and a T-shirt and it’s going to be about 75. Sorry ’bout Winter not knowing when to leave. How rude!

45 minutes each way saved? That’s a cause for celebration! I gave up commuting years ago. I still drive to my job but now my rule is live where I work or work where I live. It’s worked out so far. I drove that long at least for years. I tired now. 🙂

    Have a great weekend!

    1. 75 would be so nice right now! We woke up to a white winter wonderland again. But, 47 and sunny tomorrow, so it won’t last. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I hope that the remote days will be successful. Saved time, not having to commute. I haven’t run into Six Sigma since I quit writing resumes. Sounds challenging. We’ve still got snow drifts, here. No backyard fires, yet.

This weekend I am reading Stonemaster by C.E. Murphy, an advance copy for backing her Kickstarter project. Volume 2 in a series; raised money for cover art. I am looking forward to taking part in Global/National Poetry Writing Month beginning Monday with some fellow poets (via email). Best wishes for your week!

    1. Thank you! I can’t believe it’s here. I’ll save so much time and money. Poetry Writing month sounds fun! It’s neat to collaborate long distance via email or like we do with the coffee share.. 🙂 Thanks for reading!

  3. It’s so awesome that you get to work remotely now. I bet it feels wonderful to not have to use 90 min to your commute. The weather is s different from ours. It’s pleasant here now, but I know that I will envy you later this summer. I hope you’re having a relaxing, fun weekend!

    1. I’m so grateful for it, this was a long time coming! I don’t think you’d want our humidity though.. LOL Unless that’s something you were used to in CA? Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by!

  4. Hi Kathleen, I suspect you are going to keep on loving working from home. I do.
I also hope this sunshine finds it’s way to your neighborhood soon.

Open fire pits and sitting around chatting with friends and family – yum – but here in California, open fires are all but illegal so we make due.

    1. I’m in love, for sure! Monday and Tuesday of last week were absolute bliss! Well, that’s a bummer, but I totally understand it’s a hazard.
