Forgive me, bloggers, for I have been absent. It’s been 3 weeks since my last post. Welcome back to the Coffee Share and I thank you for stopping by. How’ve you been? Make yourself comfy. There’s all kinds of pods and additives for your morning dose of caffeine (or sans caffeine).
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that things have been pretty quiet over the last three weeks. Since the snowmobile trip from hell, not much has happened. My team at work joined a weight loss challenge so my time has been spent shopping and meal planning much of the time. I’ll be heading to Zumba later today and climbing back on that wagon (2 weeks in a row!)
Speaking of my team at work, we are moving closer to our flexible work arrangement to the point they are talking about it! This came about quite a while ago for other departments and since we were so far off, nothing about it was mentioned by our leadership, leaving us to hope for the best. A week from this Tuesday, there is a meeting called by our director and I know that every finger in the room will be crossed for the best possible arrangement. I’ve been ready to work remotely for years. I dream of the peace and quiet of my home office and the added time to each day when 90 minutes of commuting are no longer necessary. Not to mention the weather – working from my patio in the summer and the coziness of my space heater as the snow falls outside. Savings on gas and car maintenance. This can’t come soon enough!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you my weekend to do list is pretty long. I’m on a project at work involving lots of documentation and we’re at the deadline, so I plan to spend a good bit of time today and tomorrow catching up so this coming week is not total mayhem. The weather starting tonight is supposed to be pretty nasty, rain storms and they’re talking about a “bomb cyclone” heading our way on Sunday. It will be interesting to see what actually happens after this latest wave of mass hysteria from the media. We’ll probably have a tipped over patio chair.
In other news, I received notification at work that I’ll be enrolled in an upcoming Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification class. I’m excited and terrified. Excited at the opportunity for growth and terrified because my leader and another colleague have been through it and told me it’s “like no class you’ve ever taken before” and that HUGE amounts of time will be required. It will be worth it in the end, but it’s probably likely I’ll be absent from the blog until I can come up for air in mid-May. Wish me luck!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I just received my February Creepy Crate and I’m once again delighted with the contents. Hopefully I can fit in a post with pics this weekend. My Twitterstone box is on the way, too, and I can’t wait to see what spooky goodness it contains.
Well, enough about me, let’s hear about YOU! Head on over to Eclectic Alli’s Weekend Coffee Share and tell us about your week!
I would love to work from home again. Hope that dream comes true for you!

The lean 6 sounded like a wellness certification. But wow, it’s about engineering and leadership, impressed! Good luck.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you Kathleen! I love working from home. I’ve worked from home in different ways during the past 7 years. Not having to commute is awesome. The challenge of keeping your work, and free time separate is real, but definitely worthy. I hope everything works out in your favor. Have a great weekend!
I’ve been longing for telework too—hope it happyfor you!
